Lottery Issues Policy Change
The Michigan Lottery recently added the following information to the Charitable Gaming section of the state’s website:
Currently, the division is not accepting supplier license applications for persons intending to provide millionaire party equipment to licensed gaming events. The division also is not accepting millionaire party license applications proposing to conduct an event at a location that is not already on file with the division. This website will be updated when the licensing process resumes.
MICGA has discussed the new policy with Michigan Lottery. The new policy applies to applications from new suppliers wishing to provide equipment for millionaire parties. The policy also restricts charities seeking to acquire a license for an event at a location that is not already on file with Michigan Lottery.
According to Michigan Lottery, the policy does not apply to charities applying to hold a millionaire party at their own location, using an existing supplier, or at one of the currently approved locations.
This in event states that there will be no new Michigan Charity Poker Rooms opening up unitl this hold has been lifted.
